Victory is OURS!

I want to take this opportunity to thank all of those are following and reading this blog. I have not written as often as I would like and am working to make that happen. In our spiritual warfare series we saw how this war began, who were our enemies, how to protect ourselves, and now finally how the victory is already ours.

Victory-Through-Jesus-570x300 We know that our battle is with two foes.  Ourselves and satan. Ourselves because we know the right thing to do and we don’t do it.  We know what we need to stay away from but we run to it. We know our weaknesses and our strengths and we do nothing to do away with our weaknesses and make our strengths stronger. Satan because of his jealousy of us and because since Adam, he was given rule over the earth. But he is the foe we can’t see, to a certain point.

In 1 Corinthians 15:51 – 57,”But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed! It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed.  For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies. Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled: “Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.” God has given us the victory through His Son, Jesus Christ and only through Him can we also be victorious in all things. Jesus said that we would have afflictions in this world but that we should not fear for He has already defeated the world or sin.

And finally, the people of God enter upon victory by the obedience of faith: i.e. they experience victory in God’s victory (Ex. 14:13–14; Dt. 28:1–14; Ps. 20;Eph. 6:16; 1 Jn. 5:4–5). As the Lord Jesus said, only the Son can set men free (Jn. 8:36); those who abide in his word know the truth, and the truth sets them free (Jn. 8:31–32).

As you can see, victory is ours through Him who died on the cross.  So when you find yourself asking the question why are these things happening to me or why am I going through this ordeal at this time? Reflect on where you are and what you are doing and see if any of it you could stop. If you can’t and you know your life is in constant communication with Christ, then the only one left is our unseen foe and you should know how to protect yourself from that.

God bless you and see you soon.
